3M™ Scotchlok™ Female Disconnect Vinyl Insulated is used for electrical and mechanical use. The disconnects meet Underwriters Laboratories Standard No. UL 486C (3M File No. E70512) and Canadian Standards Association Standard NO. 22.2 NO. 0, 65 (3M File No. LR22190). The female disconnects are also UL Listed and CSA Certified for use on stranded copper (AWG) wire only. They're used for factory installation on steel or brass tabs (UL and CSA), and they're used for field application on brass tabs (UL only), though strain relief is required. The female disconnects connect permanently to the pre-stripped ends of stranded copper wires. The vinyl-insulated disconnects are used for field and factory wiring applications (UL recognized strain relief is required).
