I began my wholesale electric career in 1970 working for another distributor. In 1972, I moved into the electrical contracting business, working in estimating, design, purchasing and sales. I worked 12 years in this capacity before joining Stanion Wholesale Electric Company in 1984. I began as a salesman in Dodge City and worked in that position until 1991 when I became manager of the Dodge City Stanion Branch. My wife Linda, daughter Rachel and I moved to Lawrence in 1993 when I became manager of the Stanion Branch in Lawrence.
